Team News
The Indian skipper was hit on the right bicep by Josh Little. Rohit had to retire hurt after scoring a 50 at the halfway stage in the second innings. Although it isn't serious. He said that it was a bit sore. Other than this, both teams have no injury issues.
India:
The Indian players are coming into the tournament after an intense IPL season. They won their first game against Ireland quite comfortably but the challenge is yet to begin. They are set to face Pakistan who lost their first game against the USA. Rohit Sharma will lead the side and he scored a half-century against Ireland. Virat Kohli opened with Rohit in the last game but couldn't contribute more than just 1 run. Virat's performance against Pakistan is sensational so surely he is going to make a comeback.

Suryakumar Yadav could only score 2 against Ireland. He played some brilliant innings but was inconsistent in the IPL for Mumbai. It is high time that Suryakumar works on himself and takes some responsibility. Rishabh Pant scored a half-century in the practice match and played a mature unbeaten 36-run inning in the game against Ireland. Hardik Pandya and Axar Patel bowled very well in the last game and they are set to feature on Sunday.

Chahal and Kuldeep didn't get the opportunity in the game against Ireland. Kuldeep had a superb IPL campaign with the bowl while Chahal failed to maintain his economy but took plenty of wickets. At least Kuldeep deserves to feature in the game against Pakistan. But, it seems like India are trying to play with one extra batter. Arshdeep Singh picked up two crucial wickets but he needs to do something with his economy. Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah are also there and they are the backbone of this bowling unit.

Pakistan:
Despite a shaky start, Pakistan reached a competitive total of 159/7, with key contributions from Babar Azam, Shadab Khan, and Shaheen Afridi. Mohammad Rizwan failed to contribute with much but Babar scored 44 runs. Babar needs to improve his strike rate as a strike rate of 100 in T20Is is not good enough. Shadab played an exceptional inning but the other batters like Iftikhar, Azam Khan, and Fakhar Zaman were failures.
Pakistan have a strong bowling lineup and with the pitch in Nassau County expected to favor fast bowlers, Pakistan will heavily rely on Shaheen Afridi’s skill with the new ball. Amir and Naseem Shah were very good with their spells in the last game. Haris' economy is concerning and he needs to improve that.
Shadab Khan's bowling has also raised many questions. Imad Wasim has been included to strengthen the middle order. Axam Khan hasn't even scored a total of 100 runs in his last 13 innings. His form and fitness have been questionable and no doubt he is not going to feature against India.
Possible XIs:
India's possible XI: Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah, Arshdeep Singh
Pakistan's Possible XI: Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Babar Azam (c), Usman Khan, Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Imad Wasim, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Amir, Naseem Shah
