Team India are in the semi-final of the 2024 edition of the T20 World Cup and they are facing England. The World Cup had been played a total of eight times before this edition, and MS Dhoni led the Indian team for the first 6 times. Virat Kohli led India in 2021 while Rohit led in the 2022 edition. After a horror exit in the ODI World Cup, a new captain and a fresh-looking team took the field in this tournament. MS Dhoni proved himself a great leader as he created history by winning the inaugural T20 World Cup. India defeated Australia at Durban in the semi-finals by 15 runs and went on to win the whole thing. The Indian Cricket Team scored 188 runs with the help of Yuvraj Singh's 70-run inning off 30 deliveries and Dhoni's cameo of 36 runs. Australia could only manage to score 173 runs as India reached the Final to face Pakistan.

India reached the Final of the 2014 T20 World Cup after defeating South Africa at the Sher-E-Bangla Stadium by 6 wickets. South Africa managed to score 172 runs with the loss of 4 wickets which looked like a defendable total at first. But, the Indian batters made it look easy. After a positive start from Rohit and Rahane, Virat Kohli took charge and played an unbeaten knock of 72 runs to take his team over the line.

The sixth edition of the T20 WC was held in India. India suffered a huge defeat at the hands of New Zealand in the opening game but then won every game to make their place in the semi-finals. It was against the mighty West Indies. India, despite the best efforts from the eventual player of the tournament Virat Kohli, lost the match. It also turned out to be MS Dhoni's last appearance in T20 WCs.

Just like the 2016 edition, India's journey in the 2022 edition ended in the Semis with defeat at the hands of England. India could only manage to score 168 runs with the loss of 6 wickets which was not enough to defend as England chased it down comfortably without losing any wickets. They completed the chase within just 16 overs and it turned out to be a one-sided contest.

Indian men's cricket team took their revenge over the England team as they outplayed them in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 semi-finals by 68 runs. Batting first, Rohit Sharma scored a stunning fifty to take India's total to a fighting 171/7 in the first inning. 

In the second inning, England batters could not find any resistance to Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav's spin on a track that was a bit helpful for them. Both Axar and Kuldeep returned with three wickets each as India qualified for the final for the third time.
