India tour of Zimbabwe: India to play 5-match T20 series after T20 World Cup 2024

After the T20 World Cup 2024 in June, the Indian team will tour Zimbabwe in July. Zimbabwe Cricket and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the India tour of Zimbabwe on Tuesday.

During the tour, the Indian team will play a five-match T-20 series against Zimbabwe. The matches will be played between 6th and 14th July, all the matches will be held in Harare Cricket Stadium.

India last toured Zimbabwe in 2022

The Indian team last toured Zimbabwe in 2022. During this period the team played a series of 3 ODI matches. They also won all three matches and captured the series 3-0. The last T-20 series India played against Zimbabwe was in 2016, where Team India won 2-1.

Zimbabwe will host the tour for the fourth time

This is the fourth time Zimbabwe will host India in a T20 series. Earlier the series was played in 2010, 2015 and 2016. The last T20 clash between the two teams took place in the T20 World Cup in 2022. In which Team India won by 71 runs. In this match, Suryakumar Yadav had scored 61* runs in 25 balls.

Zimbabwe will not play the T20 World Cup 2024

Zimbabwe did not qualify for T20 World Cup 2024. This year, Namibia, Uganda, and South Africa will play from Africa. 20 teams will participate in the T20 World Cup 2024 to be hosted by America and West Indies. Earlier, Zimbabwe team could not qualify for the ODI World Cup 2023 held in India.

Zimbabwe last played the T20 World Cup in 2022, in which it was eliminated from the league stage. Earlier, the team could not play the 2021 World Cup due to ICC ban. Not only this, the team did not even qualify for the 2019 ODI World Cup.

India has a 5:2 win ratio in Zimbabwe

So far 8 T-20 international matches have been played between India and Zimbabwe. Out of these, the Indian team has won 6 matches, while they have faced defeat in 2. While the two teams have clashed 7 times in Zimbabwe. Out of these, the Indian team has won 5 matches and Zimbabwe has won 2 matches.
