India started Day 2 with a score of 21. Nathan Lyon's 5 wicket spell put India under pressure as they struggled to make a partnership early in the morning. Axar Patel once again stood up for his team and helped to reach a fighting total of 262. Travis Head's inning helped to gain a lead of 62 runs at the end of the 2nd Day of India vs Australia 2nd Test.

India vs Australia: 2nd Test Day 2 Match Report

Kl Rahul once again struggled to put up runs in the scorecard as he lost his wicket for just 17 runs. Cheteshwar Pujara got out for a duck in his 100th Test match. Rohit Sharma (32) looked impressive after his century in the 1st Test but Nathan Lyon had his formulas for the Indian Skipper too. Shreyas Iyer (4) also couldn't able to stand against the fierce Aussie bowling attack after making come back to the Test Cricket. Virat Kohli (44) was the lone warrior but debutant Kuhnemann got his wicket at the right time.

Ashwin, Jadeja & Axar Patel took the job seriously and made the opposition pay by batting brilliantly. Jadeja scored an important 26 runs while Ashwin smashed 37 runs. Axar Patel once again showed his batting masterclass by scoring 74 runs. India bowled out for 262 runs. Lyon claimed 5 wickets while Kuhnemann & Murphy took 2 wickets each.

Australia lost an early wicket of Khawaja in the 2nd Innings but then completely turned the game around as Travis Head's 39* bullied the Indian bowlers at the end of Day 2. Australia got a lead of 62 runs before going to the important 3rd-day clash.
