India's veteran batter Murali Vijay announced his retirement from all forms of International Cricket on Monday. Indian Cricket News breaks out after the announcement. The star Indian batter, who last played for India in December 2018, tweeted to social media to announce his decision. 





The Indian star recently stated that he is looking for opportunities abroad. He has announced that he will be exploring new opportunities and will continue to be part of the sport. Vijay also thanked his family, friends, and coach & wished the Indian team, the best for the future.

Murali Vijay made his International debut for India in a Test match on 6 November 2008. He was a crucial opening batter for India from the early 2010s till around 2017. In 61 matches, he has scored 3982 runs at an average of 38.29, including 12 centuries and 15 half-centuries. Some of his most important & memorable knocks in test cricket are 144 at Brisbane, 145 at Trent Bridge, 95 at Lord's, 99 at Adelaide, and 97 at Kingsmead. One of the best openers in overseas for India in Tests. He smashed Four centuries against Australia, Three centuries against England, Two centuries against Sri Lanka, Two centuries against Bangladesh & One century against Afghanistan in Test Format.



In ODIs, He played 17 matches for Team India and scored 339 runs at an average of 21.18 and a strike rate of 66.99. He had one half-century to his name.

Vijay played nine matches for Team India in T20 International and scored 169 runs with an average of over 18 and a strike rate of over 109. He has neither a century nor a half-century in the T20 Format for India.
