Mumbai Indians defeated the Rajasthan Royals by 8 wickets to stay alive in the playoffs race. However, with this win against Rajasthan, Mumbai Indians move up to the 5th position in IPL 2021 points table. Although, Rajasthan Royals slips down to 7th place after their defeat against MI. Ishan Kishan comebacks and became a star with the bat for MI, and Nathan Coulter-Nile, James Neesham stars with the bowl. Ishan scored unbeaten 50 runs in 25 deliveries including 5 fours and 3 sixes. As Neesham took 3 wickets and Coulter-Nile took 4 wickets.

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma has won the toss and elected to bowl first against the Royals. It was a do-or-die encounter for both of the teams. However, MI made two changes to their side. De Kock and Krunal Pandya miss out and Ishan Kishan, James Neesham comes in the playing xi. On the other side, Rajasthan Royals also made two changes on their side. Shreyas Gopal and Kuldip Yadav comes in the playing xi replacing Mayank Markande and Akash Singh.

The First innings failiure from Rajasthan :
Rajasthan Royals destructive opening duo, Evin Lewis and Yashasvi Jaiswal comes in to bat. Meanwhile, Evin Lewis again smashes Jayant Yadav for back-to-back boundaries in the 2nd over of the Royals innings. But soon in-form Yashasvi Jaiswal fails on just 12 runs as Coulter-Nile took his first wicket of the night.
However, soon Lewis went for 24 runs which he scored including 3 fours and 1 six. Bumrah took the crucial wicket of Lewis in his second over. RR slips down from 27-0 to 43-3 when skipper Samson is gone for just 3 runs in Neesham's delivery. After that Coulter-Nile and James Neesham came into the show again. As Coulter-Nile picks up back-to-back wickets with dismissing Glenn Phillips and David Miller. Also, Neesham took a total of 3 wickets in his 4 over spell including the wicket of Samson and Tewatia.
No Rajasthan Royals batsman could stand in front of Mumbai's bowlers. However, the Royals finish on 90-9 in their limited 20 overs. Moreover, along with a big six by Mustafizur in the 5th delivery of Trent Boult in the last over.

An Easy Chase for Mumbai Indians :
Coming to chase the lowest target of this season at Sharjah, MI skipper Rohit Sharma took a fiery start in the powerplay. Hitman scored 22 in 13 deliveries including 2 huge sixes and a boundary. After the dismissal of Rohit, Surya Kumar Yadav came at no 3 and smashes 3 fours before he got out on

Rajasthan Royals bowlers didn't keep MI batsmen in any trouble to their chase. Meanwhile, Ishan Kishan started hitting out of the park after Surya's dismissal. Ishan scored a half-century in just 25 balls to gift Mumbai Indians a much-needed victory. Moreover, Ishan has also played as a keeper in this match and took a total of 3 catches.
