MS Dhoni has once again turned the tables but this time off the ground. According to reports coming in from Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp, Dhoni has made Ravindra Jadeja stay with the team for IPL 2023. A report by TOI claims that Dhoni made it clear to CSK management that Jadeja can't be released.

According to the report, the CSK skipper made it clear to the team management that Ravindra Jadeja needs to be retained at any cost. Dhoni made it clear to the team that Jadeja's influence can't be replicated by any other player.
Moreover, Dhoni felt as CSK will be playing their Home leg in Chennai after a long time. So, Jadeja is most suited to the conditions. On Dhoni's insistence, CSK management has approached Jadeja and it is being reported.
IPL 2023: When do franchises have to submit Retained Players list?
The 10 IPL franchises have been asked to submit their list of retained players by November 15, a senior official of a franchise said on Sunday.
It is understood that the BCCI has set the ball rolling for the next edition of IPL. The mini-auction will be held in the third week of December in Bengaluru. It is also learned that even the salary cap is likely to be increased from Rs. 90 to Rs. 95 crores for the next season.

However, at the mini-auction, the franchises can bid for players with the balance amount left after what they spent during the last mega-auction and also with the amount they get after releasing the players they want to give back to the auction pool.
Sportz Point had reported that Jadeja wasn't in touch with the franchise since IPL 2022 and wanted to move on. Although he had a three-year contract with CSK, he was upset with the franchise for not giving him a longer rope as a captain. Jadeja has already deleted all the photos and videos from his CSK days from his social media accounts. He had even unfollowed CSK.
