Is there any Right-to-match option at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction? If yes then how will it work?
The IPL teams had permit to retain six players at most– where 5 players at most can be capped and maximum of 2 can be uncapped. The six players could be bought by retaining ahead of the auction or the franchises can use the RTM option to buy the player. The RTM option will work like this: if a player is about to be bought by another franchise rather than the franchise he played for in IPL 2024, the player's previous franchise can join in the end of the bidding process and buy back the players using the RTM option, but they will need to match the highest bid. After that, the franchise that made the winning bid will be given another opportunity to raise the bid to whatever amount they wish. In that case, the player's previous team will have to match the increased bid to buy back their player. Here are the eligible RTM options for each team: CSK: 1 (One capped or uncapped) RCB: 3 (One uncapped and two capped/ three capped) SRH: 1 (One uncapped) MI: 1 (One uncapped) DC: (One capped and one uncapped/ two capped) RR: None available.
