Kalighat Cricket Club, one of the most successful cricket clubs of yesteryears and recent years in Kolkata Club Cricket are going to put together the legendary trio of Manoj Tiwary, Wriddhiman Saha and Anustup Majumdar for the next 2024-25 season.
From being in Group B of the First Division League to fitting their way back to the Group A and Super Division, Kalighat Cricket Club have done tremendously well in the last three seasons. One of the main reasons for their success has been putting up a squad with a mixture of youth and experience and players who can be a fit for any situation and playing condition.

Last season, they brought back one of their own, Anustup Majumdar after 14 years. This season, they are all set to combine one of the greatest batting trios of Bengal in former captains Manoj Tiwary and Wriddhiman Saha. Saha, the wicket-keeper batter with the experience of 136 first-class games, returned to Bengal after spending one season with Tripura.
Along with the "legendary trio', they have put together a remarkable squad to fight for the championships in every format. Batters like Shubham Chatterjee, and Shreyansh Ghosh who went on to make their first-class debut last season, will be staying with the club alongside Koushik Ghosh, which makes them one of the strongest batting lineups of Kolkata Club Cricket. Experince campaigner Writam Porel will be one of the key players for them in the tough summer of the season.
Moreover, Kalighat have been able to bring the services of Pramod Chandila, wicket-keeper batter Sayan Biswas and U-19 star Agnishwar Das, who has been touted as one of the fine young talents of Bengal cricket at the moment.
In the bowling lineup, fast bowler Pritam Chakraborty, who is now back at his fittest form after spending the last season with an injury, will continue taking the new ball for Kalighat. He will share the load of pace battery alongside former U-19 World Cup winner Ravikant Singh, youngster Debopratim Halder, left-arm pacer Durgesh Dubey and all-rounder Sayan Shekhar Mondal.

Including the pace bowling lineup, the spin department will see a few changes for Kalighat for the next season with Vikash Singh leaving the club. Vikash had been a stellar performer for the club but now will be replaced by Sujit Yadav. Akash Biswas will also join them from Mohammedan Sporting Club. Ambidextrous spinner Kaushik Maity will also be one of the players to watch out for in the season.
A few outstation players like Arun Chaprana (Haryana), Mrunal Hemant Devdhar (Baroda and Railways), and Ashwin Das (Madhya Pradesh), alongside Pramod Chandila (Haryana), who has been a known name in Bengal and Kolkata Cricket over the years.
