The Ranji Trophy, India's premier domestic cricket tournament is organized annually by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). This prestigious tournament serves as a significant platform for Indian players to exhibit their talent, with the ultimate goal of earning a spot in the national team based on their performances. Hyderabad's Tanay Thyagarajan has the most wickets in Ranji Trophy 2023-24 with 56 scalps from just seven matches at an average of 14.98. Tanay can take big wickets at crucial moments and can come as a handy batsman if required. he made his first-class debut in 2018â19 Ranji Trophy where Thyagarajan also finished as the leading wicket-taker for Hyderabad with 17 scalps from five games.
2. Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore (Tamil Nadu) | 53 Wickets
Ravisrinivasan Sai Kishore finished as the second-highest wicket-taker this season, taking 53 wickets in 15 innings and 9 matches at an average of 18.53. Sai Kishore has been pivotal to Tamil Nadu's success in the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 campaign. The spinner has been the most successful bowler in this edition of the prestigious red-ball competition. He continued his purple patch with the ball against Mumbai in the semi-finals as he claimed his third fifer of the campaign. Sai Kishore was the first bowler to breach the 50-wicket mark.

3. Mohit Jangra (Mizoram) | 43 Wickets
Mizoram's Mohit Jangra has taken 43 wickets in just 6 matches at an average of 19.95 to place himself in the third spot in the most wickets in Ranji Trophy 2023-24 list. The left-arm pace bowling sensation was one of the stars for India U-19 in their series win over Sri Lanka U-19s in July 2017.

4. Gaurav Yadav (Puducherry) | 41 Wickets
Ending the season with 41 wickets, pacer Gaurav Yadav secures the fourth spot in the most wickets in Ranji Trophy 2023-24 list. Gaurav grab the feat in just 7 matches at an average of 14.59. He has had five five-wicket hauls. Gaurav has been a revelation for Pondicherry in the Ranji Trophy 2023-24 season. This is Gaurav's first season with Pondicherry. Until this season, he'd been playing for Madhya Pradesh.
5. S Ajith Ram (Tamil Nadu) | 41 Wickets
With 41 wickets in eight matches, Tamil Nadu's S Ajith Ram is more of an old-school left-arm fingerspinner who relishes bowling long spells. These wickets have come at an average of 14.09. Ajith can create sharp angles from wide of the crease and is particularly accurate with his lengths. He had been on the fringes of the Tamil Nadu Ranji side for a while before he established himself as their second spinner behind Sai Kishore in the 2022-23 season, when he picked up 19 wickets in four games at an average of 20.36.
