Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Kumar produced a superb effort with the bat as Mumbai Indians completed a gigantic 215-run chase against Punjab Kings and won the match by six wickets in Mohali on Wednesday. The pair added 116 runs for the third wicket after Mumbai were 54/2 in the powerplay. Ishan scored 75 in 41 balls before getting out to Arshdeep Singh. Nathan Ellis dismissed Surya Kumar Yadav, who scalped two wickets in his full quota. Tilak Varma and Tim David joined the chase and wrapped the contest with no issues. Arshdeep, who had emerged as the hero in the reverse fixture played at Wankhede, was a big flop in Mohali as he leaked 66 runs in the 3.5 overs he bowled. Rohit brought in Piyush Chawla to bowl the final powerplay over and he was welcomed with a lofted drive straight over the bowler's head for a boundary by Dhawan. The PBKS skipper then swept it towards the square region, which resulted in another four. 10 runs came off the over as Punjab accumulate 50/1 in powerplay.

Liam Livingstone & Jitesh Shamra's partnership turned the match completely

Dhawan got stumped on 30 in Piyush Chawla's second over as Punjab lost their second wicket of the evening. Liam Livingstone joined the attack. After some singles, he played a late cut which helped Punjab reach 78 runs in the first 10 overs. Piyush Chawla came to bowl his final over and got the wicket of Matthew Short. The bowler cleaned up Short for 27(26).

Jofra Archer came back into the attack and he started with a beamer against Livingstone. Following the beamer, Archer conceded four boundaries in his over as 21 runs came off the 13th over. Livingstone welcomed Arshad Khan with back-to-back boundaries. He and Jitesh then happily rotated the strike before Livingstone finished it with another boundary. The pair also brought up the 50-run partnership in 23 balls. Liam Livingstone hit Akash Madhwal for a boundary towards the cover region, which also brought up his half-century. He took 32 deliveries to reach the milestone. Jitesh Sharma then hit the pacer for another four in the over. 12 runs come off it as PBKS reached 178/3 in 18 overs.

119 runs partnership between Livingstone & Jitesh Sharma set the perfect tone for the match

Jofra Archer came to bowl his last over. Livingstone welcomed him with a six towards the long-on stands. He dispatched another one for 92-metre in the same direction. The party didn't stop as Livingstone connected another one, once again in the same direction. The fourth and fifth balls were rotated for a single, before Archer banged it short, which beat the batter and the wicketkeeper and raced towards the fence. The umpire signaled it wide as MI challenged the decision. TV officials directed the umpire to stick to his decision. 27 runs came off the over as PBKS reached 205/3 in 19 overs.

Akash Madhwal delivered an excellent final over as no boundaries came in it. Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma rotated the strike and got eight runs in it as PBKS posted 214/3 in 20 overs. Livingstone returned unbeaten on 82(42), Jitesh scored 49*(27). The pair added 119 in 53 balls. Piyush Chawla was Mumbai Indians' best bowler as he conceded only 29 runs in his 4-over spell and scalped 2 crucial wickets. The Veteran Indian spinner is performing on a regular basis for Mumbai Indians.

Nathan Ellis broke the partnership between Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar. Surya Kumar Yadav was dismissed for 66(31). Tim David joined the chase and he scored a boundary in the final ball of the over. MI reached 178/3 after 16 overs. Mumbai lost set batters in quick succession as Arshdeep Singh got rid of Ishan Kishan for 75(41). He banged it short and reduced his pace as Ishan Kishan's shot found Rishi Dhawan at fine leg. Tilak Varma wrapped up the match in style as he smoked Arshdeep Singh for a huge six. Mumbai Indians completed the 215-run chase with seven balls to spare and won the match by six wickets.
