Some over-cut may take place in the first test between India and New Zealand as rain is going to be a constant companion at M. Chinnaswami Stadium. The first test against New Zealand will commence on and from October 16, and there is a forecast of rains abrupting the normal pace of the game.

The local weather portal of Bengaluru is expecting the match to experience "generally cloudy skies with heavy rain" from October 16 to 18. There may be some play-pause situations in the first three days, while the last two days can be totally washed off.
