The struggle continues for the Bengal team in the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 final as Saurashtra extend their lead to 230 runs in the first inning. Dharmendra Jadeja added 29 runs batting at eleven while Prerak Mankad added 33 runs in the morning session of Day 3.

Although Mukesh struck early in the first over as Arpit Vasavada could not add any o his overnight score of 81. Abishek Porel took an easy catch to give the first wicket of the day for Bengal.

Though Bengal wanted to keep the momentum, Prerak Mankad and Chirag Jani kept on piling runs on the board. Mukesh bowled an extended spell and got rid of Chirag Jani. Abishek Porel with another catch.

Akashdeep then struck for Bengal as the team management hoped to keep the lead under 200. Akashdeep made Jaydev Unadkat return to the pavilion for 4 while Mankad went for 33 just like his captain.

Parth Buth got his life back twice as Abhimanyu Easwaran and Sumanta Gupta missed two catches of him. Easwaran's one was a dolly in the slip while Sumanta's valiant effort went in vain. Dharmendra Jadeja looked like a proper batter batting at 11 as he added 29 batting at the lowest position. Saurashtra added 35 in the last wicket as they finished at 404 in the first inning of the Ranji Trophy 2022-23 final.

The start for Bengal did not look good as Sumanta Gupta went for 1 before umpires declared lunch on Day 3. Sakariya again was the bowler to get Sumanta out in a repeat of the first-inning's dismissal.
