Baroda stunted Mumbai while Tamil Nadu defeated Saurasthra in the first round of matches in Ranji Trophy 2024-25. Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Railways, Services, Vidarbha, Kerala and Gujarat won as well in other matches. As all the matches ended today, Sportz Point presents you with a roundup of the results of every match of the elite and plate groups. 

Haryana vs Bihar

Veteran off-spinner Jayant Yadav starred with the ball for Himachal Pradesh as the home team thrashed Bihar by an inning and 43 runs at Chaudhry Bansi Lal Cricket Stadium in Lahli.

Yadav took 5/57 in the second inning and also scored 55 with the bat.

Chandigarh vs Railways

Wicket-keeper Upendra Yadav and left-arm spinner Akash Pandey were the heroes for the Railways team as they defeated Chandigarh by 181 runs at GMSSS Sec-26 Cricket Ground in Chandigarh.

Upendra scored a solid 124 in the second inning while Akash Pandey took 9 (38/5 & 79/4) wickets in the match.

Goa vs Manipur

Shubham Tari's five-wicket haul and Suyash Prabhudessai's stunning 120 in the first inning helped Goa win six points against Manipur. Manipur did try to come back after following on, but could not earn a point at Goa Cricket Association Academy in Porvorim.

Tamil Nadu vs Saurashtra 

Saurashtra faced their consecutive defeat against Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy as they faced an inning defeat in Coimbatore. N Jagadeesan (100) and Sai Sudarshan (82) were top-class with the bat for the home team while Gurjapneet's 22/6 in the second broke the star-studded Saurashtra batting lineup.

Ravi Chauhan (113) and Rajat Paliwal (107) scored centuries while Varun Choudhary (43/5) took a five-wicket haul as Services earned 7 points against Meghalaya in New Delhi.

Baroda defeated Mumbai in a Ranji Trophy team after 26 years as Bhargav Bhatt took a 10-wicket haul (53/4, 55/6) for them. Mitesh Patel, Atit Sheth and Krunal Pandya were also good for them with the bat.

Tanush Kotian was good with ball for Mumbai as he took nine wickets in the match including a five-wicket haul in the second inning.

Jammu & Kashmir vs Maharashtra 

Shubham Khajuria (255) scored one of the three double tons of the first round as Jammu & Kashmir put a big first-inning score in a run-fest at Sher E Kashmir Cricket Stadium in Srinagar. Shivansh Sharma and Siddhesh Veer were the other centurions of the match.

J&K took the first-inning lead and earned three points.

Uttar Pradesh vs Bengal

Despite a century from captain Deepak Hooda (128) in the first inning a star-studded Rajasthan failed to earn six points against Puducherry. Deepak Chahar, Khallel Ahmed and Manav Suthar helped them earn the first inning's lead.

Sai Sudharsan starred in the IPL 2025 awards winners full list by winning 4 individual awards. Sai won the Orange cap while Prasidh Krishna won the Purple cap of IPL 2025. Meanwhile, youngster Vaibhav Suryavanshi also won the Super Striker of the season award for his excellent strike rate of 206.55 in the tournament this season.

Sudharsan won the IPL 2025 Emerging Player of the season award for his excellent season with the bat for the Gujarat Titans. The young left-handed opener finished with 759 runs with a strike rate of 156.17. 

Super Striker: Vaibhav Suryavanshi

The 14-year-old youngster from Bihar broke multiple records this season with a 35-ball century. Vaibhav finished the season with a strike rate of 206.55 to win the Super Striker award.

Sai Sudharsan also won the Fantasy King of the season award for acquiring the most points on the Fantasy App. 

Most sixes: Nicholas Pooran

With 40 sixes in the season, West Indian power hitter Nicholas Pooran won the most sixes award. Shreyas Iyer with 39 sixes just finished one spot behind him.

Most fours: Sai Sudharsan

Sai Sudharsan with 88 fours won the most fours award of IPL 2025. He was way ahead of Suryakumar Yadav on the list, who finished with 69 fours.

Most dot balls: Md. Siraj

Mohammed Siraj, with 151 dot balls, won the award for the Most dot balls of the season. Prasidh Krishna finished second on the list with 146 dot balls.

Catch of the season: Kamindu Mendis

Kamindu Mendis' excellent catch on the boundary line to dismiss Dewald Brevis earned him the catch of the season award. 

FairPlay: CSK

Chennai Super Kings won the FairPlay Award for the IPL 2025 season.

Purple Cap: Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna, with 25 wickets in 15 matches, won the Purple cap award. Noor Ahmed finished just behind him with 24 wickets in 14 matches. 

Orange Cap: Sai Sudharsan

With 759 runs at a strike rate of 156.17, Sai Sudharsan won the Orange cap of the season. Suryakumar Yadav, with 717 runs, finished second on the list.

MVP: Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav was adjudged the Player of the tournament for his 717 runs at a strike rate of 167.91. Yadav averaged 65.18 in the tournament and was one of the key players for the Mumbai Indians. 

Best Ground: DDCA

Delhi District and Cricket Association won the Best Ground of IPL 2025 award. 

Player of the final: Krunal Pandya

Krunal Pandya became the first player to win two player of the final awards after his excellent spell of 17/2 in four overs. Krunal had earlier won the award with the Mumbai Indians as well in the 2017 final.

India A started their England tour on a great note with a solid Day 1 display against the England Lions in Canterbury. Karun Nair headlined the day with a solid, unbeaten 186 with the bat for India A.

England Lions captain James Rew won the toss and decided to bowl first on a greenish pitch at the St. Lawrence Ground. 

India A lost captain Abhimanyu Easwaran early on 8 while Yashasvi Jaiswal went back to the dressing room after adding 24. 

When it looked like that, Rew took the right decision of bowling first, Sarfaraz Khan and Karun Nair put up a 181-run partnership for the third wicket to give India A the advantage after Day 1โ€™s play. 

Karun Nair, who last played a test match in 2017, continued his great form and completed his fifty in 85 balls. 

Soon, Sarfraz Khan, who was dropped from the test squad, completed his fifty in 84 balls as well. When both batters were looking to get to the hundred mark first, Sarfraz was caught down the leg side on 92 off 119 balls and missed his ton.

Nair, who was dropped on 89 off Ajeet Singh Dale, completed his 24th first-class ton off 155 balls.

Post that, incoming batter Dhruv Jurel and Nair started smashing the bowlers and changed their gears. Nair reached the landmark of 150 in 205 balls while Jurel reached his fifty in just 68 balls.

At the end of Day 1 of the 4-day unofficial test match, Jurel remained unbeaten on 82 off 104 balls while Nair remained unbeaten on 186 from 246 balls, with India A finishing with 409/3.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the India U19 (men's) squad for the upcoming England tour, scheduled from June 24 to July 23, 2025.

This tour will have a 50-over warm-up match, followed by a five-match Youth One-Day series and two Multi-Day matches against England U19.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who has already made his name as the youngest ever centurion in IPL history at just 14 years of age, has been picked for the tour. Another IPL star, Ayush Mahtre, who has impressed with his striking abilities for Chennai Super Kings in IPL 2025, has been made the captain of the squad.

Abhigyan Kundu will be Mahtre's deputy for the whole tour. 

Bengal pacer Yudhajit Guha has been named in the squad as well. Guha had earlier featured for the India U19 team in the U-19 Asia Cup as well.
