Ashwin replaces Bumrah in the latest ICC Test Bowling Rankings

The 37-year-old Indian veteran spinner played an important role in Team India's victory in Dharamshala. He took four wickets in the first innings and five wickets in the second innings. Including both the innings, Ashwin had taken nine wickets for 128 runs. Ashwin has removed Jasprit Bumrah from the top position in the latest ICC Test Bowling Rankings with 870 rating points. Earlier, Bumrah had also become the number one Test bowler by replacing Ashwin.

Ashwin took the full advantage of Bumrah's absence in Ranchi Test

On the other hand, if we talk about Jasprit Bumrah, he has lost two places and now slipped to third place with 847 rating points. The reason for this loss could be his rest in the middle of the Test series against England. Bumrah was rested from the fourth Test in Ranchi. Before this, Bumrah was also the Indian bowler taking the most wickets in the 3 Tests played in the series. But, Ashwin took the full benefit of his not playing in Ranchi in ICC Test bowling rankings.

Ashwin shows strength against England

Ashwin performed strongly against England and played an important role in Team India winning the series. He took a total of 26 wickets in the series. The fifth Test against England was his 100th Test match. In this match he took a total of 9 wickets in his name. Ashwin is the second highest wicket taker for India in the history of Test cricket. Apart from this, he has taken the maximum number of five wickets for India.
