India's skipper Rohit Sharma chose to field first after winning the toss, in the second test match against Bangladesh, at Kanpur's Green Park Stadium. For the last 60 years, no captain has chosen to field first in this venue. The last captain to choose to field first here was MAK Pataudi during the India-England Test in 1964.
A Rare Choice for India
After 9 years, India has decided to field first in a home Test. The last instance was in 2015 against South Africa in Bengaluru. This, however, makes Rohit Sharma the first Indian captain in five years to go into back-to-back Tests with an unchanged team. India last fielded the same XI consecutively during the 2019 India-Bangladesh series under Virat Kohli.

Bangladesh Makes Changes
