Royal Challengers Bangalore defeated Rajasthan Royals by 112 runs in Match 60 of IPL 2023, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday. Chasing a target of 172 runs, RR were bowled out for only 59 in 10.3 overs, with Wayne Parnell taking three wickets for RCB, and Michael Bracewell and Karn Sharma scalping two dismissals each. Shimron Hetmyer top-scored for RR with a knock of 35 runs off 19 balls. Initially, half-centuries by Faf du Plessis (55 off 44 balls) and Glenn Maxwell (54 off 33 deliveries) took RCB to 171/5 in 20 overs. Adam Zampa and KM Asif took two wickets each for RR. A slow start from Royal Challengers Bangalore after deciding to bat first
Royal Challengers Bangalore had a very poor start. The Royals' bowlers started very well. RCB batters showed no signs of aggression whatsoever. It seemed like they are worried about the fragilities of the middle order. RCB were only able to score 42 runs in the powerplay. Virat Kohli failed to boost his inning and lost his wicket after scoring 18 runs in 19 deliveries. KM Asif came with the early breakthrough. Glenn Maxwell smacked a six off Ashwin making his intentions clear right from the start. This was a good start by Maxwell as he was providing much-needed acceleration for the innings. The RCB skipper completed his seventh half-century of the season. A mature inning from a world-class batter in an important situation. He also completed 4000 runs in the IPL. It has been one of the measured innings from the RCB skipper. However, just when he was looking to change the gears he departed as KM Asif picked up his second wicket of the afternoon.

Adam Zampa completely shifted the momentum by scalping two wickets in the same over. At first, it was Lomror who lost his wicket and then the veteran DK got out for a duck. He matched Rohit Sharma for the most ducks in the history of IPL (16). Excellent innings by Maxwell as he completed his half-century. Right from ball one, he made his intentions clear he played some of his vintage shots reminding Maxwell of the old. RCB picked up 5 wickets in the Powerplay
Royal Challengers Bangalore got off to a brilliant start with the bowl. They didn't give the opportunity to Rajasthan batters to settle accordingly the pitch. Siraj came up with the huge wicket of in-form Jaiswal in the second delivery of the first over. Parnell then sent Buttler home for a duck too in the second delivery of the second over. Parnell didn't just stop there and picked up the wicket of skipper Samson too in the same over. Bracewell came in and dismissed Padikkal in the fifth over. Wayne Parnell bowled his third over and got away with the wicket of Joe Root. Rajasthan lost half of their men in the powerplay for 28 runs on the scoreboard.

RCB registered a huge victory of 112 runs and climbed to the 5th position in the points table.
