Rajasthan Royals beat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 6 wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Indoor Cricket Stadium in Rajasthan to maintain their unbeaten streak in the Indian Premier League 2024. Jos Buttler's century and Sanju Samson's impressive 69-run knock were enough to help the Royals secure two points against a struggling Bangalore side. Earlier, Virat Kohli scored 113 runs and remained unbeaten till the end to help his side put up a fighting total on the scoreboard and even started well with the bowl. But, Buttler and Samson had different ideas and RCB have now registered their fourth loss of this season. RR are on the top of the points table with 12 points in 4 matches, unbeaten in the IPL 2024 so far.

Rajasthan Royals maintain their unbeaten streak in the IPL 2024 following a 6-wicket victory against Bangalore
Jos Buttler was on 94 when the scores were tied at 183. He then struck Cameron Green for six to complete his sixth IPL century, handing RR their fourth consecutive victory in IPL 2024. Buttler’s 58-ball century eclipsed Kohli's unbeaten 113-run knock, an absolute classic. Kohli scored more than 60% of his team's runs, but he didn't get the support from the other batters and ultimately paid the price. The England skipper and Sanju Samson (69) added 148 runs for the second wicket which helped their side secure the victory.
Reece Topley provided RCB with a magnificent start, scalping the wicket of dangerous youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal in the second delivery of the first over. But, it didn't matter for the Royals as Jos Buttler and Samson both started to play some exciting shots and soon they added 100 runs for the second wicket. Buttler set the stage by targetting Dagar in the final over of the powerplay to accumulate 20 runs as Royals finished on 54/1 after six overs. Jos completed his fifty off 30 balls and Samson completed his half-century off 33 balls.
The positive for the home side was Buttler’s return to form. Siraj got the breakthrough at a total of 148, having Samson caught on the boundary but it was too late. Yash Dayal dismissed in form Riyan Parag early while Topley sent Jurel to the dugout and kept the hopes alive but Jos Buttler was enough to take the team from there. Shimron Hetmyer also struck two boundaries to lift the pressure. Buttler then completed his century and the chase in the first delivery of the 20th over with a big hit.

Earlier, RCB put up a total of 183 in 20 overs thanks to Virat Kohli's eighth IPL century. Kohli had not scored even an IPL fifty at the venue but he changed the books scoring a century. Although his 67-ball century is the slowest in the history of the IPL, it was important for the side. Despite Virat's 113-run knock, Bangalore could only manage to put up 183 runs on the scoreboard.
After his 125-run opening partnership with Faf du Plessis, Kohli fought like a lone wolf. Faf couldn't change the gear after a slow start and his inning came to an end when he was batting on 44 after facing 33 deliveries and Chahal proved to be his hunter. Glenn Maxwell and Cameron Green once again put up a flop show which proved to be the main reason behind RCB's loss. They could have put up a 200+ total on the scoreboard but that never happened.
Saurav Chauhan also couldn't help Virat so he had to play a little bit slow. Yuzvendra Chahal and Ashwin bowled well in the middle overs to stop him from scoring. Despite a strike rate of 156.94, many would argue that Virat Kohli played very slow but without it, RCB might not even put up a 180+ total.
