Match Preview
Arsenal, after their hard earned win against Crystal Palace last Monday will be looking to make it three consecutive wins in a row. From the very beginning of the Transfer window we all knew that the Gunners meant business and a win against Fulham would make a perfect start to their Premier League campaign where they are termed as contenders.
Arsenal fought with 10 men in the Crystal Palace tie and showed great resilience and determination. A goal by Martin Odegaard from the spot awarded the Gunners all three points and they make their London derby record even better since last season.
Fulham on the other hand, were off to a rocky start. They won their first match of the campaign against an unlucky Everton team but on Saturday they got beaten 3-0 by Brentford. Aleksandar Mitrovic's exit was expected to cause Fulham a whole lot of problems and in their match against their London rivals it really did cause them a lot of trouble with creating goalscoring opportunities.
Team News:
Arsenal's no.9 Gabriel Jesus is back in training with the team but is still not fully fit, so Arsenal may assess other options like Leandro Trossard who've made a difference everytime he has come onto the pitch.
In defense Arsenal will miss Tomiyasu, who was a replacement of an injured Jurrien Timber, because he picked up a red card in the match against Crystal Palace. But the good news is, Zinchenko is back in the squad, so he will fit right in, in that Fullback position.
Fulham will be without captain Tim Ream after he too picked up two yellow cards against Brentford, which would weaken an already weak defense. But this would make way for summer signing Calvin Bassey.
Joao Palhinha is expected to start, because he looked fit when he came off the bench in their previous encounter. Willian is still a doubt to play against his ex-club, Arsenal.
