Arsenal vs Man City : EPL Highlights | Martinelli's late goal gives Arteta a 1-0 victory over Pep for the first time in a league match

Arsenal beat Manchester City 1-0 in front of their own fans at the Emirates Stadium, thanks to Gabriel Martinelli's deflected effort which earned him the goal on his return from injury. Manchester City were unbeaten against Arsenal in the Premier League since 2015 and the winning streak is over for the Cityzens. Arteta's men pulled off a statement win which would give the Gunners a huge boast for the rest of the campaign.

The match was a sheer tactical one but it all came down to who wanted it more, and it ended in Arsenal's favour. A draw would've been a much fairer result, some would say but Arsenal's performance in the second half deserved all three points. They had the better chances, they had most of the ball, they looked composed and most importantly they managed to score a goal.

Questions on the VAR would be asked as they again involved themselves in controversy by not giving a "straight red card" for Kovacic's first challenge on Odegaard and also, for not showing a "second yellow card" for the Croatian's bad foul on Declan Rice. The inconsistency in officiating is becoming a regular thing now.
