France Football and L'Équipe, the organisers of Ballon d'Or 2024 announced the nominees for the prestigious award. This is the first time since 2003 that Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo were not nominated for the award. UEFA Champions League winners with Real Madrid, Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior along with UEFA Euro 2024 winners with Spain, Rodri and Lamine Yamal are among the few who has been nominated this year.
Lamine Yamal is the only player to be nominated for both Men's Ballon d'Or and The Kopa Trophy.
When will Ballon d'Or 2024 will be awarded?
The 68th edition of Ballon d'Or award will take place Monday 28 October at the grandiose Théâtre du Châtelet, located at the Place du Chatelet in Paris.
