A delightful day for FC Barcelona as the club received La Liga's official green light for the economic viability plan earlier today, and the Golden Boy's registration is another reason to celebrate. According to the reliable Italian football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Pablo Martín Páez Gavira, known as Gavi, has been officially registered as a first-team player and will wear the number 6 kit next season. His release clause is set at €1 billion, which will expire in June 2026.

The Golden Boy was initially added to the senior setup in the last winter transfer window and he even got the single-digit jersey for a short period. However, La Liga cut short the youngster's tenure as a first-team player by officially filing a case against the Catalans for delaying the submission of papers.

Pablo Gavi the Golden Boy of Barcelona
The Barcelona court has now ruled in favour of the Blaugranas and stated that the registration had been made before the deadline. Despite being registered with the subsidiary team, the 18-year-old has been a key member in Xavi Hernandez's setup. His fine performances at the club level have made him a regular starter for the Spanish National Team. Pablo Gavi even represented Spain in the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
The talented midfielder featured in 36 of Barcelona's 38 La Liga games in the recently concluded season. He has scored two goals and provided four assists in the process. He even created six big chances for the team. Xavi Hernandez preferred to use the teenager as a false winger for most of the 2022-23 campaign. He deployed him on the left side of the attack. Gavi made the position his own and was one of the critical components in the team's successful four-man midfield model. The plan could remain the same next season.
Barcelona will turn their focus to the registration of their future leader, Ronald Araujo. There is no doubt, Barcelona will now go all out for submitting an official offer to Lionel Messi.
