With only three days to go for the much-awaited Kolkata derby between East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan Super Giant, the Durand Cup organisers after a big delay will be releasing the tickets of the high-voltage clash from Thursday onwards.
A meeting of the two heads with the Durand Committee was held at the Sports Minister Arup Biswas' office on Tuesday. According to the Durand committee, the sale of East Bengal vs Mohun Bagan Derby tickets will start from 11 August to 12 August. Tickets are available from a single point i.e. from Shyam Deo Vats from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm (August 11) and 11:00 am to 1:00 pm (August 12).
Basically, tickets priced at RS 100 and 200 will be available from the box office. However, tickets may not be sold online as it has been decided to sell it all offline. There is anger among supporters, mainly those who live far away, as tickets are not available online. Moreover, there will be 30000 saleable tickets (15000 each from Mohun Bagan and East Bengal Groun).
Coming to the ongoing Durand Cup 2023, Mohun Bagan Super Giant, the reigning Indian Super League (ISL) champions are in scintillating form as the Mariners currently top their group with 6 points from two games. The Kolkata Giants routed Bangladesh Army 5-0. They got the better of newly promoted ISL side from the I-League, Punjab FC with a fine margin of 2-0. Mohun Bagan have a formidable side and are tipped to win the bragging rights on Saturday.
