The United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland have been given the responsibility of hosting the Euros in 2028 as no one opposed their bid and Turkey's withdrawal also helped.

The UK and Ireland have been given UEFA's approval as it seemed like an exciting project to them and are also planning to be one of the preferred candidates to host the 2030 World Cup.

Cardiff's Principality Stadium is understood be hosting the opening match of the Euro 2028 with the final set to take place at the iconic Wembley Stadium in London.

Matches at Euro 2028 are set to be held at 9 different venues and 10 different grounds, including Belfast, Birmingham, Cardiff, Dublin, Glasgow, Liverpool, London, Manchester and Newcastle.

England were one of the 11 countries to have hosted the Euro 2020 along with Scotland. They've been also given the responsibility of hosting the 1966 World Cup and 1996 Euro. England have also hosted the Women's European Championship in 2022 and it was a record shattering tournament.

Germany is set to host the upcoming Euros in 2024 with the latest being played in 2021 instead of 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
