Cristiano Ronaldo came to Portugal's rescue and his goal in the 72nd minute proved to be the difference between their match against Slovakia. He also added to more two more goals to his international tally and it seems like no one can catch him in the near future, it's that good.

Ronaldo showed today that Portugal can still rely upon him and he's nowhwere near being "finished". The other players in the list are either retired or, the active ones are still very much behind to catch him. He has scored a mind blowing 123 goals in his 201 appearances for his country.

Ferenc Puskas is second on the list with 84 goals, which shows how dominant Ronaldo have been. Among active players, Robert Lewandowski has the best chance or possibility to catch Ronaldo but it seems very unlikely as he's in his 30s and plays for Poland.

Ronaldo's contribution and commitment has been amazing for Portugal. He always tried to give his best for the country and most of the time, he has been successfully in doing so. From the current lot, it doesn't seem like anyone could even cross the hundred goal mark in Europe as most of them are past their prime.

Cristiano Ronaldo started against Slovakia tonight and after Goncalo Ramos's goal in the early stages, the Al Nassr forward stepped up at the penalty spot and gave Portugal a two goal lead.

After Slovakia got one back, Ronaldo again made his mark and forced Portugal a two goal lead once again. Slovakia went on to score again, so Ronaldo's second goal proved very important for Portugal to earn all three points and qualify for the Euro 2024 in Germany.

Ronaldo is still going strong at this stage and it seems like he has set new goals in front of him and in order to achieve them, he's working really hard. He has a great start to his club season this year and he would like to continue that form in the international stage too.
