Football at Paris Olympics: Here are the top 5 male superstars you will see in the Paris Olympics

Achraf Hakimi (Morocco/ Paris SG)

Top 5: Achraf Hakimi will represent his nation in the Olympics - sportzpoint.com

Morocco are one team to look out for in the 2024 Olympics. Achraf Hakimi is undoubtedly their best player who plays Club football in Paris. So it will be a sort of home tournament for the 25-year-old. Morocco will start their campaign under the leadership of Hakimi against the Euro 2024 Champion Spain. Hakimi had a terrific FIFA World Cup 2022 campaign with Morocco when they qualified for the semi-final, beating Portugal. So, Morocco is a good team but they will be without some of their star powers. So, the pressure will be upon the shoulders of Hakimi and he will be one of the players to watch out for.

Julian Alvarez (Argentina and Manchester City)

Top 5: Julian Alvarez will represent Argentina in the Olympics - sportzpoint.com

The 24-year-old Manchester City and Argentina forward Julian Alvarez  will come to the Olympics after lifting the Copa America 2024 title. Alvarez is a very consistent performer and his work-rate and finishing are excellent. The versatile forward is a key player for club and country. But there is no rest for him, as he's heading straight to Paris. Argentina have many talents but Julian will be the main man for La Albiceleste in the upcoming Paris Olympics.

Pau Cubarsi (Spain and Barcelona)

Top 5: Pau Cubarsi will play in the Olympics for Spain -sportzpoint.com

Pau Cubarsi has joined the Spanish squad for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Barcelona starboy will be excited to start for his nation and Spain are one of the favourites to win the Gold Medal. Cubarsi had a terrific 2023/24 season with Barcelona and even won Man of the Match awards in the Champions League. The 17-year-old has become one of the important players for Barcelona and will try to become the starter for Spain too.

Castello Lukeba (France and RB Leipzig)

Top 5: Lukeba will represent France in the 2024 Summer Olympics - sportzpoint.com

RB Leipzig finished fourth in the 2023/24 Bundesliga season and lots of credit should go to the French talent Castello Lukeba. France are heading into the Paris Olympics under their legendary forward Thierry Henry. Henry has called in Lukeba and there is no doubt, the Leipzig defender will start games for France in the Paris Olympics. Chelsea are very interested in signing him and his performances may attract the London club more in the upcoming days.

Michael Olise (France and Bayern Munich)

Olise in action for France - sportzpoint.com

Bayern Munich's new signing Michael Olise will be one of the exciting players going for gold in Paris this summer. Olise contributed 10 goals and 6 assists in 19 Premier League games for Crystal Palace last season. Olise, who has just signed a four-year contract with Bayern will represent France in the summer Olympics. In a strong French squad, Olise's inclusion is a cherry on top and France will try to win the Olympic football gold for the second time after a poor UEFA Euro 2024 campaign.

Premier League: History

The Football League First Division was the top-tier football league in England from 1888. But in the post-1970s and early 1980s, the league started to reach a low point with incidents like the 1985 Heysel Stadium disaster, which banned them from UEFA Competitions for five years.

But after England reached the 1990 FIFA World Cup semi-finals, the downward trend started to reverse. The stadium started to get filled, and the Taylor Report on stadium safety standards also helped clubs to create better standard stadiums.

After a dispute over TV rights and maximising the club revenue, the big five clubs, Manchester United, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, and Arsenal, opted to come out of the Football League First Division and create another league.

At the close of the 1990-91 season, the FA Premier League was formed, and from 1992-93 the Premier League era started with 22 teams. Manchester United were the first Premier League champions and went on to win seven of the first nine trophies.

Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Manchester City, Liverpool, and Tottenham are considered the 'Big Six' in the Premier League. Unfortunately, Tottenham haven't lifted any major title in their history, but still, they go toe to toe with every club and take part in the title race.

Manchester United, with 13 Premier League titles since 1992, are the most successful club in the Premier League era.

However, they were relegated in the 1998–99 season, becoming one of the 42 teams that were relegated as the Premier League champions.

Mohamed Salah, with 19 goals, was one of the star performers for the Reds in that season.

Final Score

Apr 2, 2025, 9:51 PM

Final verdict!

So it will be another El Classico in the Copa Del Rey final in Sevilla. Barcelona were the better team and attacked more in the first half, resulting in a goal from Ferran Torres. They could have scored more if they had latched onto the chances created mainly by Lamine Yamal.

But atletico Madrid brought in three changes at the start of the second half, which made them attack more frequently and freely.

However, despite a few chances, they were not able to score. Jules Kounde was excellent for Barcelona, making multiple blocks in the final 15 mins of the game.

This means that Barcelona will meet Real Madrid in the Copa del Dey final and will be another step closer to their target of a treble.
