In Football Transfer News, reports from Italy claim that Kim Min-jae has chosen Bayern over Man United, while Kyle Walker seems to move Munich.

Kim Min-jae to Bayern

There are growing reports that Napoli defender Kim Min-jae has decided to join Bayern Munich, despite the interest from Manchester United and Newcastle United.

It had seemed practically certain just a few days ago that Manchester United had done enough to convince the 26-year-old centre-back.

However, now Foot Mercato are absolutely confident Bayern Munich blew everyone else out of the water by offering him a salary worth €10m per season on a contract to June 2028.

Above all, there is also a 'quality sporting project' in place, whereas Manchester United in the middle of a complex takeover are more of an unknown quantity.

The South Korea international has only been in Serie A for one season, having been snapped up from Fenerbahce for €18m last summer.

He made a huge impact, helping them win the Scudetto and named Serie A Defender of the Season.

With a release clause set in the region of €50m – but variable depending on the revenue of the purchasing club – a sale this summer was always going to be on the cards.

In other football transfer news, Bayern are said to be keeping a close eye on Walker's situation at City, and The Athletic has reported that there is an expectation the deal will go through. The right-back joined City from Tottenham in 2017 and has gone on to make 254 appearances for the club.

He has won five Premier League titles, four League Cups, and two FA Cups - but he was on the bench for the Champions League final against Inter Milan as City completed the treble.

The deal is not complete but the fee and personal terms are not expected to be an issue, as he has just a year left on his contract. Bayern and City did business in the January transfer window, as Joao Cancelo was allowed to move to Munich on loan.

The England international turned 33 in May, and he is said to be unhappy with his playing time this season. In addition to being on the bench for the Champions League final, he made a mere three starts throughout the competition and was handed just 22 starts in the league.
