Tottenham sacks Nuno Espírito Santo after their 3-0 defeat against Manchester United. The match against Man Utd was the last opportunity that he got to save his job at the club. Latest Football Transfer News states that Conte is the top choice as the next Manager.

Nuno got sacked by Tottenham just 4 months after he took charge of the team. He joined the club back in June replacing José Mourinho. And was given a 2-year contract by the Spurs. The club is now looking to move forward with Antonio Conte as his replacement.

Spurs makes an announcement stating that Nuno. Along with coaching staff Ian Cathro, Rui Barbosa, and Antonio Dias, are no more associated with the club.

Spurs managing director Fabio Paratici said: 

"I know how much Nuno and his coaching staff wanted to succeed and I regret that we have had to take this decision.

"Nuno is a true gentleman and will always be welcome here. We should like to thank him and his coaching staff and wish them well for the future."

Espirito Santo has been in charge of only 17 matches. He won 9 draws 1 and lost 7. Out of his 7 losses five of those defeats came in the Premier League. Against teams like Crystal Palace, Chelsea, Arsenal, West Ham, and the latest addition of Manchester United. Tottenham sits 9th in the Premier League with just 5 wins in 10 matches.

Tottenham has kept its eyes on several other managers before moving forward with Nuno. Including Gennaro Gattuso, Paulo Fonseca, and former Inter manager Antonio Conte – who was previously at Chelsea. 

Tottenham has again contacted Antonio Conte. According to the latest football transfer news, the talk between the two parties has shown positive results. The Club could pen down the Italian Tactician in the coming days with a contract for 3 years.
