Referee of the Osasuna vs Real Madrid match closes social media accounts after receiving death threats
José Luis Munuera Montero, the referee who showed a controversial red card to Jude Bellingham, has closed his social media accounts as he reportedly received death threats.
The shocking instance of Jude Bellingham receiving a straight red card during the Osasuna vsReal Madrid match in LaLiga 2024-25 has stirred up severe controversy.
Amid the ongoing dispute, José Luis Munuera Montero, who officiated the match, has restricted his social media accounts after he received countless 'death threats'.
The incidents have taken a much more serious turn after Los Blancos ended the game against Osasuna in a 1-1 stalemate on February 15th.

The controversy started to take shape after the referee José Luis Munuera Montero showed Bellingham a straight red card in the 39th minute of the game, for alleged insults directed at him.
Bellingham allegedly abused the referee, using the 'f-word' while protesting against Osasuna receiving a free-kick. However, manager Carlo Ancelotti backed the English international, claiming that the referee misunderstood what the player said in English.
Bellingham himself stated to issue no further comments regarding the incident, as the LaLiga Disciplinary Committee is keeping the incident under speculation for an investigation.
Real Madrid are also expected to appeal opposing the marching order, whereas the Real Madrid midfielder might face at least a one-game ban.
🚨 Ancelotti: "Red card? I think the referee was nervous. Bellingham said 'if that's a foul then that was a penalty, f*ck off', Bellingham didn't do anything to deserve a red card. The referee didn't understand English." pic.twitter.com/TJlILlfhRj
However, the concerning incidents have drifted toward a very serious instance after Montero received almost 100,000 mentions in his latest Instagram post within a day. According to Mundo Deportivo, The comments included threats to injure or kill him, even threats to harm his wife and family.
The LaLiga official was forced to restrict the comment section on his social media following these horrible remarks. LaLiga has already responded to this incident, promising to "conduct an investigation aimed at enhancing the safety of its referees."
Dani Olmo is not a FC Barcelona player anymore: What is the future of the Spanish star?
La Liga have announced that Barcelona have failed to register player Dani Olmo and he is a free agent now. If Dani Olmo wishes, he can sign for another club.
La Liga organisers have clearly announced that FC Barcelona were not able to register their star player Dani Olmo before the given time and the player is no longer a FC Barcelona player. Along with Dani Olmo, the Catalan club have also failed to register Pau Victor before the last date, which was 31st December.
There is no data for players Dani Olmo and Pau Victor on La Liga's official website, which confirmed the situation and announcement from La Liga.

Barcelona, who have facing a financial crisis for a long now, had signed Olmo until December 31, 2024, at 80% of Danish defender Andreas Christensen's salary, who was injured earlier this year. Amidst all of these reports, the good news for Barcelona fans is that Christensen has returned to training and will be available for selection in Barcelona's next La Liga fixture.
La Liga had imposed a spending limit, which enabled Barcelona to have Dani Olmo only for a certain period of time and was allowed to play until Barcelona resolved their financial issues. Barca had signed the Spanish star for €60 million. But, if they are not been able to register the player, they would face a bigger financial loss.
"Barcelona have failed to register Dani Olmo and Pau Victor"
During the season, Joan Laporta, the Barcelona president had announced that a deal with Nike would help them resolve the Financial Fair Play situation and they would return to the 1:1 rule, mandated by La Liga. But, he has not been able to resolve the issue yet.
"La Liga informs that, as of today, December 31, FC Barcelona has not presented any alternative that, in compliance with La Liga's economic control regulations, allows them to register any player starting January 2," La Liga stated.
Olmo is a free agent now and can sign for any club
Barcelona had applied to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for new registration of Dani Olmo and Pau Victor, but RFEF does not want to get in between La Liga and the club. RFEF is clear that they would only register the player if it is authorized by La Liga.
So, as of the situation right now, Dani Olmo is a free agent and can sign for any other club if he wishes to do so. However, as per his agent Andy Bara has expressed that Olmo is willing to stay in Barcelona despite Barcelona's appeal to register him being denied.
