Most of the top players including Sunil Chhetri, Gurpreet Singh Sandhu and Sandesh Jhingan were included in the 28-member probable Indian player list for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers announced by head coach Igor Stimac on Friday.
This list of players is for the first two matches of joint qualification for the FIFA World Cup 2026 second stage and the AFC Asian Cup Saudi Arabia 2027 preliminary stage.
Meanwhile, The Indian team are set to face Kuwait in their opening match of Group A on November 16 at the Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium in Kuwait City. The team will then return home to face Qatar at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on November 21. The Indian team will leave for Dubai on November 8 for the preparation camp before the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
