"I'm going to die for PSG": Sergio Ramos on UCL Round of 16 draw against Real Madrid

Sergio Ramos has expressed that He is "going to die" for PSG when they face Real Madrid in the Champions League RO16.

The Spanish center-back was interviewed on his emotions after drawing his former club in the Champions League, and he didn't deny his loyalty to the club.

However, Sergio Ramos has managed to play in only one match this year for PSG taking into consideration of his muscular injuries, but he is hopeful to be available for the two-legged clash against Real Madrid.

What did Sergio Ramos say?

The first draw of the Champions League RO16 was between Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United. Which meant Messi and Ramos vs Ronaldo. However, after the re-draw, PSG tied against Real Madrid which was an emotional turn of events for him.

"You know the affection and love I have for Real Madrid," Ramos said. "Now it's my turn to defend PSG and I'll do everything possible to do it. It's the team that bet on me. I'm going to die for PSG."

"I would have liked not to have that confrontation , but returning to the Santiago Bernabeu is cause for joy I could not have a real farewell because of Covid restrictions."

Ramos: 'Many hours of darkness'

Ramos also revealed that he experienced "many hours of darkness and loneliness" at the start of his time at Paris Saint-Germain as a calf injury prevented him from playing in a match until November 28. He's since been out of the equation again with muscular issues which stalled his status of progress.

"It has been hard, different from what I have experienced in my career," he said. "Injuries have . To feel like a player again is the important thing. Many hours of darkness, loneliness, but it has helped me to overcome challenges. It has helped me to know who was really there and who was not. There will be Ramos for a while. The family is already well adapted. I smile again thinking about competing again."

Why did Ramos leave Real Madrid?

The 35-year-old defender is already a legendary figure for Real Madrid, but after his contract expired this past June an extension was not able to be agreed upon. However, PSG made a lucrative contract offer and Ramos took the opportunity to play for France's strongest team. Still, his love for Real Madrid remains strong.
