The Indian team could not win a match since their 1-0 victory against Kuwait in the second round of World Cup Qualifiers match on 16 November 2023. Previous coach Igor Stimac was sacked by AIFF in June 2024 and Manolo Marquez has taken up the mantle as the head coach of the Indian team since July 20, 2024.
However, Manolo had a rough start as the head coach after getting knocked out of the Intercontinental Cup facing a 0-0 draw against Mauritius and losing their second match to Syria by 0-3. Manolo Marquez will also try to ease his path to success and he is adamant about doing so.
