IWL 2023-24: Kickstart FC earn a fighting point against defending champions Gokulam FC

In a hard-fought encounter on January 12, 2024, between the reigning champions Gokulam Kerala FC and Kickstart FC, currently placed second and third in the IWL 2023-24, the match at EMS Corporation Stadium concluded with a 0-0 draw.

Gokulam, standing at second place with 10 points from four matches, faced a tough battle against Kickstart in the third position with eight points from five matches.

Despite dominating possession in the midfield, Gokulam struggled in the final third, missing several golden opportunities to score. The first half saw Gokulam's intense start, with Fazlia Ikwaput missing a chance in the 8th minute and hitting the post in the 16th minute.

Gokulam's inconsistent season, with only two wins in five matches, led to disappointment after their previous significant victory over Sports Odisha. On the other hand, Kickstart FC, content with the draw, secured the second position behind Odisha FC.
