Barcelona beat Levante 3-2 in exciting match as Barcelona won despite of three penalties being awarded against them.

Barcelona's Luuk De Jong headed a header in extra time to give his side a 3-2 win over struggling Levante after an impressive end-to-end match where his side missed three penalties.

Barcelona is the first team in the League to win a match after conceding three penalties, and De Jong's last goal in the last moments made him score his seventh consecutive league win, raising it to second place in the standings with 60 points after 30 games.

But they are still far from leaders Real Madrid, who have 72 points from 31, after beating Getafe 2-0 at home on Saturday. Levante occupies 19th place with 22 points.

Levante came as a surprise, but deservedly took the lead against a lackluster Barcelona in the 52nd minute when captain Jose Luis Morales scored from the penalty spot after a foul by Dani Alves.

Moments later, the hosts were awarded a second penalty, due to a handball from Eric Garcia, who prevented Levante from taking the lead in the first half when he smashed a shot from Morales just outside the goal line.

This time striker Roger Marti stepped up to take it and his effort was saved by Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen. The visitors quickly pushed Levante to head the ball with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's cross from Osman Dembele in the 59th minute.

Teenage midfielder Pedri then gave Barcelona the lead in the 63rd minute, hitting his first shot into the bottom corner after it was parried by 17-year-old Jaffe, who was also taken off the bench in the second half.

Levante then got a third penalty kick in the second half when Dani Gomez touched a through ball and was stopped by Barcelona defender Clement Lenglet. Gonzalo Meleiro took over and made no mistake against Ter Stegen to equalize in the 83rd minute.

But there was plenty of time for a final development against Asra when substitute De Jong crossed from Jordi Alba and headed into the bottom corner in the second minute of extra time.
