Vinicius Jr. faced abusive racist chants during the LaLiga game between Real Madrid and Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium last night.
The Brazilian forward reportedly faced racist slogans from the spectators at Mestalla before and after his red card incident.
De nuevo Vinicius tuvo que aguantar insultos racistas durante el partido en Valencia. Solo he tenido que ver un par de minutos del vídeo de La Nave del Madridismo. Qué vergüenza.

Vinicius Jr. faces another racism controversy
Vinicius Jr. was sent off in the 79th minute of the game as he smacked Valencia keeper Dimitrievski. However, things escalated when he was shown the red and Vini lost his calm. The Brazilian was fuming at the referee Cesar Soto Grado and his team-mate Antonio Rudiger had to carry him inside.
However, a video that has started surfacing on the internet where it can clearly be heard that Valencia’s home supporters were chanting “mono” (“monkey” in Spanish) at Vini Jr. This disgusting incident once again exposed the increasing racism at various LaLiga venues.

This is not the first time Vinicius has faced racist abuses at Mestalla. On May 21, 2023, Vinicius Jr. faced racial slurs at the Mestalla by the same home crowd. The Real Madrid forward confronted the individuals who abused him and called out the referees which halted the game.

Following this incident, Vinicius Jr. criticized the Spanish Football Federation's inability to stop these instances by saying "Racism is normal in LaLiga". It led to a global outrage, with many people supporting the player.
In the same year, the Brazilian government unanimously approved an Anti-racism law called "The Vini Jr. law" which was named after the player. Vinicius continued to be the foremost speaker of the anti-racism campaigns in football.
However, Real Madrid managed a 2-1 win over Valencia last night and manager Carlo Ancelotti addressed the red card of Vinicius in the post-match conference. He stated;
We'll appeal [the dismissal]
I don't know if they'll accept it. We think it wasn't a red. ... It was a touch from Dimitrievski and then a push from Vini. I think two yellows would have been enough ...
I don't know if [Vini] can play our next game, let's hope so. He's still a decisive player for us.
Vinicius also posted a statement on X (Twitter), apologizing for his behaviour.
