Some will argue that it is too early to declare him as Alba's successor but he has that superstar mentality and can become a top left-back for his national side and Barcelona. He is too young and will have to learn many things besides just raw talent but if Barcelona manages to get someone helpful with the youth just like Xavi, Balde can become unstoppable. Balde produced seven goal contributions from left-back last season. He is not playing his best football right now but the Barcelona fans will be hoping to see him back in full potential.

Balde made his debut for the first team towards the end of the 2021/22 season and Xavi slowly integrated him in the place of veteran Jordi Alba. He was a key part of the La Liga and Spanish Super Cup winning squad in 2022/23. Balde made his debut for the Spanish national side in the World Cup in Qatar in 2022 and played four matches in the tournament.

He is now getting regular game time and proving to be a brilliant player for the side. He made his debut in the away game against Royal Antwerp. Xavi mainly used him as a right-back, but he also played left-back in the Copa del Rey quarterfinal. Fort also played in the U17 World Cup in the 2023/24 season and is a key member of the Spanish side.
