Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has been nominated for the Laureus World Comeback of the Year award in the Laureus World Sports Awards. Christian suffered a cardiac arrest while playing for Denmark at Euro 2020, a moment that made the world stop. He has made a remarkable recovery to play football at the highest level once more. The 31-year-old is currently out with an ankle injury, but he has been a key player for Erik ten Hag this season, displaying his quality on the ball and turning matches in seconds.

Eriksen's Recovery:

Eriksen returned to football in January 2022, following the fitting of a cardioverter-defibrillator. He impressed the fans at Brentford in the second part of last season before moving to Old Trafford in the summer. He also represented Denmark once more at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, lining up alongside the best from around the globe.

Eriksen's recovery defines football. His love, passion & dedication is an example for millions. His subsequent contribution to both club and country is inhabitable. That's the reason behind his nomination for the prestigious Laureus World Sports Awards.

He is a sportsperson who can relate to such an incident as both suffered big-time health issues during the peak of their career. Yuvraj Singh is a Legend for Indian Cricket Team as he was a true contributor for the National side when they achieved glory in the 2007 T20 World Cup & 2011 ODI World Cup.

Yuvraj Singh was suffering from a rare form of cancer called "mediastinal seminoma", which affects the tissues in the chest between the lungs. He underwent chemotherapy in Boston and Indianapolis, made a successful recovery, and returned to cricket in 2012. The passion, love & dedication are there for the two players for their game.

The 71 members of the Laureus World Sports Academy, which consists of Olympic champions, world record holders, and plenty of other sporting greats, such as United legend Sir Bobby Charlton, will determine the winners. The winners of the Laureus World Sports Awards 2023 will be announced this Spring.
