Lionel Messi: the beginning of an era

At the age of 13, Messi flew from Argentina to Barcelona in the year 2000 for a trial. After just one game, Barcelona's Sporting Director Carles Rexach knew that Messi was a star in the making. Joan Gaspart, Barca's president at the time, thought there were some risks in signing Messi but Rexach elected to write out the following contract on the napkin, signed by all three members present at the Club de Tennis Pompeia cafeteria. After four years, he made his competitive debut at the age of 17 in October 2004. On 1st May 2005, Leo Messi scored his first official goal wearing Barcelona's jersey against Albacete, with a great assist from another legend, Ronaldinho.

During the 2011–12 season, he set the La Liga and European records for most goals scored in a calendar year (91), and established himself as Barcelona's all-time top scorer. During the 2014–15 campaign, he became the all-time top scorer in La Liga and led Barcelona to a historic second treble. He was awarded a fifth Ballon d'Or in 2015. A new chapter in Paris Saint Germain

Messi joined PSG in August 2021 after spending more than 20 years at Barcelona. Barcelona couldn't register their Legend because of their financial conditions. Messi had to leave the club and join PSG to play two seasons at Ligue 1. Paris couldn't win the Champions League despite having a front three like Neymar, Mbappe, and Messi. Although they won the Ligue 1 twice, it didn't look like Messi was happy in Paris. The 35-year-old has played 71 times for the French side, scoring 31 goals, recording 34 assists.

Messi helped Argentina to win the World Cup and also fulfilled his only dream of playing football. He didn't get a grand welcome in Paris after that. Despite giving his best performances in most of the games, the fans booed him for no reason. Leo Messi scored an important goal against Strasbourg to secure the Ligue 1 in the 2022/23 season otherwise it would be different. Sometimes, a player needs peace more than anything. Messi will continue his football or "Soccer" in MLS from next season for Inter Miami CF.
