Sunil Chhetri's farewell game and Luka Modric's special message

Chhetri's career has broken and created multiple records in his career. He has led the team from the front and it is going to be a very emotional game for himself and the Indian football fans. Chhetri made his national team debut back on June 12, 2005, in a friendly against Pakistan and also scored in that game. He is the third-highest goalscorer in men's international football with 94 goals, trailing just Ronaldo and Messi.

Chhetri helped India win the 2007, 2009, and 2012 Nehru Cup. He also won the 2011 SAFF Championship. Sunil Chhetri has won a total of four SAFF Championship titles. Chhetri was one of India's best players during the 2008 AFC Challenge Cup, in which India won the tournament and qualified for their first AFC Asian Cup in 27 years. He then led India during their short-lived campaign at the 2011 AFC Asian Cup. In 2015, he became the first Indian player to score 50 international goals.

The 39-year-old 'Captain Fantastic' will want to end his India journey on a positive note, which will also help the chances of the side going through to the next round. Before that, Luka Modric sent a beautiful message to the Indian Football Team skipper ahead of his farewell game.

"Hi, Sunil! I just wanna say hello and wish you all the best for your last game with the national team. Congratulations on your career. You are a legend of this game, and to your teammates, I hope you make his last game special and unforgettable. Good luck and win for your captain. All the best and love from Croatia," Modric said in his video. Modric is currently in Germany, preparing with his side for their UEFA Euro 2024 campaign.
