East Bengal FC has touched a new low after losing all six matches they played in the Indian Super League 2024-25. The Red and Gold Brigade never lost six straight opening matches in any tournament in their long 124 years of history.

To make things much worse, East Bengal has broken their own record of the worst starts to an ISL season as they only collected 2 points in their first six matches in their debut 2020-21 season.

Now they have also become the only second team to lose the first six matches of a season after NorthEast United FC did the same in the 2022-23 season.

East Bengal headed to the prestigious Kolkata Derby with 4 out of 4 defeats and faced their fifth against arch-rivals Mohun Bagan who won the derby by 2-0. Now Odisha FC handed East Bengal their sixth defeat by thrashing them 2-1 at the Kalinga Stadium in Odisha.
