Manchester City is in the second spot on the table but they are not in a great run right now. They are struggling with dressing room issues and also in-field problems in Premier League 2022-23 season. Now they are alleged to have breached league rules requiring the provision of "accurate financial information that gives a true and fair view of the club's financial position". The alleged breaches span a period from the 2009/10 season to the 2017/18 campaign.
Somehow The Premier League's decision surprised the English Club. As a result, the team issued a statement and claimed to have cooperated with the competition in the investigation that began in 2018.
