"The target is to change the dynamic," East Bengal coach Carles Cuadrat is looking to change the momentum and get some points against Chennaiyin FC

East Bengal coach Carles Cuadrat is hopeful that one match can change the momentum for the red and gold brigade which can help them get going in the Indian Super League 2023-24 season. The Red and gold head coach was present at the pre-match press conference before the team leave for Chennai to face Chennaiyin FC on 25th November.

Post the Durand Cup 2023, East Bengal have found hard to earn points in the Indian Super League. Although the fans have been hopeful of the change they were looking for since last few years, few have started raising questions on Cudarat's tactics in recent times. The reason being the results that have gone against the East Bengal team in last three games in the league.

Cuadrat's men have struggled to earn points in the last three games, losing against Bengaluru FC, FC Goa and Kerala Blasters FC. With only one win and one draw against their name in the five games so far, East Bengal are currently at number ten position in the ISL points table.

As per coach Carles, East Bengal need to find the dynamic that can lead them to few points very soon. Reminding about the win against Mohun Bagan in the Durand Cup 2023, the coach said that one game like that can surely change the momentum for them and from that, they can surely get going in the tournament.

"I think it is more about the dynamic the team has been getting. If you remember during the Durand Cup, we have a good victory against Mohun Bagan and from that we built a momentum, we built a dynamic. Now the main target is that to change the dynamic," Carles Cuadrat said in the press conference.

Carles believes they were one of the teams that took advantage of the FIFA Window very well. Since only Lalchungnunga and Mahesh Naorem Singh were not available due to national team duty, Carles were able to train with nearly the full squad and also played some practice matches to prepare the team for battles ahead.

"We have been taking advantage of the time. we want to get the team being competitive. we have to improve in some competitive aspect that can give us some points," Cuadrat added.

Lalchungnunga, who was also present at the press conference after India's FIFA World Cup Qualifiers fixture, said East Bengal gave him the opportunity to play in ISL which led to a call-up for the national team. Nunga is confident that under the "demanding coach" he will push himself to improve each day on the field and help East Bengal win games in future.

"East bengal has given me chance to play from an I-League side. I got selected luckily for the national team from here. Coach Carles is also pushing me every day, trying to improve me every day," Lalchungnunga told the media on Thursday.
