Juventus have looked vulnerable from the set pieces. From the corner, Tchouaméni again had the chance to go for the goal with a low effort. However, it went wide.

Valverde and Diaz linked up well for this attack. The Real Madrid captain teed up Diaz to go for the shot from the right. But, Di Gregorio did well to make the save.

Guler, on the right, dodged the defender and then floated the ball with his left foot. However, it was a bit long for Militao to meet it.

Lammens nearly made a mess of an easy grab as he had to lean behind to grab the lofted ball inside the box.

Kerkez's cross dropped inside the box, and after controlling the ball, Salah tried to go for the goal. However, he missed the target from close range.

Ekitike, probably with his first touch on the ball, went for the goal from outside the box. He missed the target though.

That was Casemiro's last action as he has been replaced. 

Amad and Casemiro are replaced by Dorgu and Ugarte.

Chances ar now coming for the defending champions.

Salah, with the floated cross and Gakpo received the ball with his thigh and then went for a quick turning shot.

Bruno found Amad on the right with a free-kick, but Mac Allister won the ball back for Liverpool, which allowed Gakpo to make a run into the other half. 

However, Shaw was their to make the challenge and let it go for a goalkick. 

No changes from either team. 

End of an exciting first half. Chances for both teams, but it is Manchester United who are leading by 1-0 after that early goal by Bryan Mbuemo. 

Gakpo had the best chance for Liverpool as he hit the post twice.

Liverpool earn consecutive corners at the stroke of the first half whistle. 

4 minutes have been added to the first half.

Cunha and Mbuemo played a few passes among themselves, and then, as he saw the space, Cunha went for a curling left-footed shot. He missed the target though. 

Code Gakpo nearly deflected the corner from United into their own goal. Corner for United. 

After the free-kick, Bradley had the chance to go deep on the right. His attempted cross was deflected away for a corner by Shaw.

Konate with a visionary ball for Isak, whose right-footed attempt from the edge of the box was saved by Lammens. 

However, Isak was found offside after that attempt.

Double chance for Liverpool. 

First, Gakpo's cross was deflected by a defender, and it went on to brush the post. 

In the second chance, Salah's header went straight to Lammens.

Kerkez's cross was not cleared well by Shaw, and Isak had a full sight of the goal.

But, he could not get the shot from the sweet spot of his feet. 

Mbeumo's cross was for Cunha, whose effort was half saved by Mamardashvili. The rebound ball fell right in the place for Mount to latch on. But, he could not do that. 

Cunha switched the play, and Amad found Bruno with the cutback. The Manchester United captain should be on target from that position. 

But, he mistimed the shot and a chance gone begging for the Red Devils. 

Uffffff! 

Great football from Liverpool. Salah picked up the ball in the midfield and played it around the defenders for a great pass to Gakpo.

The Dutch striker, with a beautiful first touch, went around the defender and hit the post with a curling right-footed shot.

United are lucky here not to concede.

Gakpo's shot from inside the box hit Amad Diallo. It looked very close. No VAR check, though, from the referees. 

Salah had the chance to score from close range, but he wanted to give the ball back to Isak. Luke Shaw meantime, made the intervention to rescue it for United. 

From the free-kick, Salah's delivery found the Liverpool captain at the far post. However, a diving Van Dijk could not get the header on target.

Gakpo found Kerkez with a small pass inside the box. De Ligt tried to get around him, and Kerkez went down. Although they did not appeal for any penalty. 

This is only the second time that there has been a goal within the opening two minutes of a Premier League game between Liverpool and Manchester United, after Nicky Butt for the Red Devils at Old Trafford in October 1995.

Kerkez made a good run on the left and then tried to find Salah inside the box with a low cross. But Cucurella was there in rescue for Chelsea with an important block.

Liverpool are looking to keep their position and keep the ball to themselves. However, with a slight opening, Enzo made a challenge and wanted to make a counterattack. But the referee whisteled for a foul.
