India's Senior Women's National Team took a significant step toward clinching their maiden international title outside the South Asian circuit with a commanding 2-0 victory over Hong Kong in the Turkish Women's Cup on Saturday, February 24, 2024. Anju Tamang and Soumya Guguloth scored the goals for India at the Gold City complex in Alanya, Turkey.

Having previously claimed the SAFF Cup five times and the SAF Games gold medal thrice, India aimed to add another international championship to their accolades, especially against formidable European opponents. In their opening match of the tournament, India showcased their dominance by triumphing over Estonia with a 4-3 scoreline.
