FC Barcelona start their campaign with an important win. Marcus Rashford with two world-class goals, and FC Barcelona got three points on the road. 

Newcastle United would be disappointed not to bury the chances they got in the first 20 minutes of the match. 

Anthony Gordon's late goal did give them hope, but it was not good enough to earn any points. 

Tonali's shot from outside the box went straight to Garcia. 

Yellow card for Casado, who took it for the team.

Ferran's right footed shot is deflected away for a corner.

Raphinha with the cross and Dani Olmo caught that well from the centre of the box. 

But Pope was ready to make the save.

Tonali's right-footed attempt from outside the box went straight to Garcia.

Pedri and Lewandowski linked up inside the box, and Rashford had the chance to find the net. However, his shot was blocked by Schar, who is down after the head blow.

From the corner, the winger's header missed the target just by inches. 

No changes from either team.

Newcastle had the best chances of the match and started really well. However, they could not convert them into goals. 

Barcelona slowly progressed in the game but without any result. 

Big 45 minutes to come.

Burn gets the yellow card for a foul on Kounde.

Yellow cared for Gerrard Martin for a foul on Guimarães.

Gordon's cross from the left is blocked and deflected for a corner by Kounde. 

Raphinha goes for the goal with the free-kick. His shot went over the goal.

Pedri had found Lewandowski with a through ball, and Lewa's deflected shot had given Raphinha a chance to volley from close range.

On his Champions League debut, Garcia made another save as Elanga first made a quick run and then sent a perfect cross for Barnes.

But, Garcia dived to his left to make the save from Barnes.

A cross from the right and Lewandowski had the chance to head the ball inside the goal. But, Pope came out to punch the ball out of danger.

The home side have found quite a few ways to enter the final third. This time, Kounde deflected a cross from the left for Newcastle's first corner.

Barcelona were able to quickly release the ball and found Raphinha and Rashford linking up on the left. 

Rashford's shot though went wide.

Burnes and Tonali linked up well before Tonali took a chance with a cross booted shot. Garcia made his first save of the night.

Elanga's perfectly timed cross from the right found Gordon at the centre of the box. But Gordon could not connect the shot. Huge let off!

Luis Enrique can’t have wished for much more. A swashbuckling attacking display that included four goals and a well-deserved clean sheet.

After a league phase campaign fraught with jeopardy last time round, Paris start their quest for a second consecutive Champions League crown in the most consummate of ways.

As for Atalanta, they toiled and stuck to their task, but will now focus on picking up their first points against Club Brugge in two weeks time.

After something of a shaky start, Ajax managed to find their way back into the game. 

Ironically, they had the best chance of taking the lead – Yann Sommer saving expertly from Mika Godts – seconds before Marcus Thuram headed the visitors in front at the other end.

John Heitinga’s men will now have to commit more men forward in search of an equaliser, which could play into Inter’s hands.

A pair of penalties from Kylian Mbappé helped Real Madrid turn a deficit into victory in Xabi Alonso's first Champions League game at the helm. 

After withstanding early pressure from the hosts, Marseille struck first through Timothy Weah's emphatic finish, but Alonso's side were quickly level when Mbappé converted from the spot following a foul by Geoffrey Kondogbia on Rodrygo.

Although Madrid had Dani Carvajal sent off in the 72nd minute, Mbappé struck again with nine minutes left after Facundo Medina was penalised for handball.

Borussia Dortmund and Juventus shared the spoils after an eight-goal thriller in Turin that equalled the record for the highest-scoring Champions League draw.

Khéphren Thuram and Loïs Openda both went close for the hosts in the first half, before Karim Adeyemi’s 52nd-minute finish sparked the encounter into life.

Kenan Yıldız, Felix Nmecha and Dušan Vlahović all scored in a four-minute flurry before Yan Couto's powerful finish made it 3-2 to Dortmund.

The visitors looked to have sealed victory through Ramy Bensebaini's 85th-minute penalty, but Juventus rescued a draw in added time thanks to Dušan Vlahović's finish and a Lloyd Kelly header.

Qarabağ claim a historic win here in Lisbon – and few can argue with the result. Benfica were 2-0 up after 16 minutes, but after Leandro Andrade’s goal, the Azerbaijan champions grew in confidence and made the most of their momentum to level and ultimately win it in the closing stages. Welcome back, Champions League!

Substitutes Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard strike to give Arsenal a winning start in a tight contest in Bilbao, where Athletic Club performed admirably on their much-anticipated return to the competition. 

Arsenal have failed to score in Spain in the first half. 

Mikel Arteta's men looked good but not sharp enough. Meantime Athletic have done well to defend and attack on the chances they got.

Olise should score from there. 

Kane, with a cutback from the byline, had found Olise with nearly an empty goal to aim at. 

But, he looked a bit casual with the finish there, and Sanchez, with a big dive, made the save.

Huge chance for Harry Kane. 

Laimer made a good run in the middle and then found Kane. 

Kane nearly went one-on-one against Sanchez, but could not beat him from a tight angle from left of the box.

Kimich with a cross pass found Kane, and Kane's toed-pass found Diax on the left. 

However, Diaz's right-footed shot went straight to the Chelsea goalkeeper.

Neuer, who is now the oldest Bayern Munich player to play in the Champions League, makes an easy save as Reece James' timid shot went straight to him. 

Although we thought he was fine, but after a run, he is limping. 

The leg took a big blow after the tussle with Gusto. 

Boey has replaced him and goes to right-back. Laimer moves over to the left.

The Bayern defender is fine and is up and running, 

Stanisic is down after a tussle. He is getting medical attention.

We are back from break.

Bayern replaced Tah with Kim.

Terrific first half. 

Chelsea started well, but Bayern kept their shape and made a comeback. 

An own goal and then Kane converted the penalty. But Palmer's strike made sure Chelsea stayed in the match.

Sanchez punched away the corner from Kimmich but it fell rightly for Olise to go for a left-footed volley.

This time, he found Kane. But, Kane's attempt was blocked and deflected for a corner.

Roman had made a double save, but the rebound ball went straight to Guler, who calmly finished with his left foot for his brace.

Mbappe could not control his feet as he misfired on the finish.

Guler's cross from the left, inside the box, got a deflection and went straight to Mbappe.

He had to be quick with that. But Morlanes at the edge of box only could toe it over the goal.

Morlanes blocks a close-range shot from Valverde. 

Water break.

Roman nearly made a mess out of the save. Tchouaméni's shot from outside the box went straight to him.

But, Roman nearly spilled it into the goal. 

Vinicius's weak cross from the left was blocked before it could have reached Mbappe.

Mastantuono's left-footed shot goes wide. It got a deflection but was not given a corner.

Mallorca gets another corner as Militao blocks Muriqi's attempt, from Pablo Torre's cross.

Vinicius Jr.'s shot from the edge of the box went through the defenders but it went straight to Roman.

Muriqi scores for Mallorca. 

From the corner, Muriqi was able to jump high enough and made the connection with the back of his head and scored.

Vini's shot from the left gets a deflection and it goes straight to Roman, who made an easy save.

Trent with another delicious ball from right. 

But, Mbappe, who was already offside, hit the side net.

The VAR has revealed that Mbappe is offside by an inch and the goal has been declined.

Trent with an accurate pass over the defenders, and Mbappe made a timely run to beat the offside trap. 

He drills it down the line and it is a goal for the French striker.

In the last one minute, Mallorca had the ball on their feet, which allowed Joseph to make a run inside the box and take a shot. But his shot was blocked.

Eric Garcia's header from inside the box goes staright to Levante goalkeeper.

Levante have been able to break the trap and go deep inside the box. This time, Joan Garcia made a crucial save to save Barcelona.

In a counterattack Romero found Morales, nearly one-on-one, but Balde came in running to make the tackle and win the ball.

Balde's cross from the left found Raphina inside the box. 

However, his header missed the target by few inches.

De La Fuente's header goes wide. He had made a timely run to meet the ball from the lofted free-kick. Huge chance.

Lamine Yamal plays a quick one-two and then goes for a shot with his left foot. Normally, you expect him to do better here but his weak shot goes straight to Cunat.

A chaos inside the box by Levante defender and Pedri found Ferran inside the box.

Although he was nearly one-on-one against Cunat, he hit the crossbar.

After lots of passes and plays, Pedri decided to make a quick turn and take a shot from the edge of the box.

But, it went straight to Cunat.

The 38-year-old striker had timed his run perfectly. But Marc Casado won the ball back from him inside the box.

Rashford, Balde and Ferran played a very quick move with Ferran side-footing the ball from inside the box. 

But it was eventually an easy save from Cunat.

Yamal looks for Ferran with a through ball. However, it was too quick for Ferran to recieve it. 

Manu Sanchez is doing a great job of marking Lamine. But, Lamine was able to enter the box. Though his effort was deflected away for a corner.

Lamine puts a great cross from the right, looking for Ferran. However, he could not meet the ball and Cunat made an easy save.

Toljan tapped the cross from the left, and Romero first played the dummy and then went for the goal to beat Joan Garcia.

Balde's shot from the edge of the box was deflected and it could have gone anywhere. It goes for a corner.

Marcus Rashford tries his luck with a lofted shot from the left. But Cunat was cautious and made the save.

I think you will have to hear this term all over the next 90 minutes. Barcelona are playing in the midfield, actually. 

On the left, inside the box, he nearly dribbled past three defenders before he was blocked, and Barcelona won the corner.

Morales scores for Levante but he is offside by a mile. 

Except for Morales, everyone is keeping their position, and Levante's shape is 5-4-1, and they would look to score in a counterattack. 

Raphinha, who is playing a bit central tonight, takes a shot from outside the box. He skied the ball up in the air while doing that.

Rashford, on the left, from close range, wanted to score from the byline. However, Cunat, who is the main goalkeeper of Spain U-21 team, made the save.

Do not know if he was looking for Rashford or if he was going for the goal, but Lamine could not get a proper connection. The deflection allowed Barcelona have thier first corner.
