The Indian men's recurve team won their first gold medal in 14 years at the Archery World Cup Stage 1 in Shanghai by beating Olympic champions Korea in the final. The team of Dhiraj Bommadevara, Tarundeep Rai, and Pravin Jadhav defeated Korea by 5-1 to clinch the historical gold medal.
They had defeated Italy by 5-1 in the semi-final to qualify for the final.

India now have won 7 medals in the World Cup
In the mixed event, Ankita Bhakat and Dhiraj Bommadevara also won the bronze medal for India, beating Mexico by 6-0. This bronze medal has taken India's medal tally to 7 with 5 Gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medal.

Jyothi Surekha Vennam dominated the compound category, winning three gold medals for India, equaling her Asian Games feat.

The Indian archery team will now be focusing on the final Olympic qualifying event, looking for more Paris Olympics Quota. Currently, India have secured only one Paris Olympics Quota, secured by Dhiraj in the men's recurve.
