#1 Rajeev Ram (USA)

Rajeev Ram is the most famous player in this list. 40-year-old Rajeev carries the pride of India on the global stage. Born in Denver to Indian parents with a strong academic background, Ram defied family expectations by choosing tennis over academic career paths.

While playing for America, Rajeev has won four men's doubles and one mixed doubles Grand Slam. Ram has achieved remarkable success representing the USA. He played mixed doubles with Venus Williams at the 2016 Rio Olympics where they clinched the runner-up spot. This time he will also participate in men's doubles.

Prithika Pavade is a rising star in the world of table tennis. Prithika's father was born in Puducherry. They settled in Paris after marriage in 2003 and Prithika was born a year later. Her father, himself a table tennis player, introduced her to the game when she was six years old.

Prithika played his first Olympics in Tokyo at the age of 16. The 19-year-old Prithika will play in women's singles, women's doubles, and mixed doubles in the Paris Olympics 2024 With a 12th seed in the women's singles event.

Another player of Indian origin Kanak Jha will play for America. Jha started playing table tennis at an Indian community center in California. Jha, 24, is a four-time US national champion and has played in the last two Olympics. He won a medal in the Youth Olympics 2018 and has already made history as the youngest American athlete at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Kanak will play in the men's singles in Paris.

#4 Shanti Pereira (Singapore)

Shanti Pereira, famous as Singapore's sprint queen, is originally from Kerala. Her grandparents were from Vettukadu, Thiruvananthapuram. His grandfather got a job in Singapore and left India and settled there.

Last year, Pereira won a silver medal in the women's 100-meter race at the Asian Games. Pereira, who was named Singapore's Sportswoman of the Year, will be one of Singapore's two flag bearers at the Olympic opening ceremony.

Born in Surrey, British Columbia, Amar Dhesi's father Balbir Singh Dhesi himself has been a Greco-Roman wrestler. Balbir, who hailed from Sanghwal village of Jalandhar, Punjab, got a job in the Punjab Police but in search of a better life, he went to Canada in 1979. He started the Khalsa Wrestling Club for Youth in Surrey in 1985. Amar used to play wrestling with his father.

Amar made his debut in the Tokyo Olympics and finished 13th in the men's 125 kg category. He won the gold medal at the Pan American Championships a year later. Amar prepares to represent Canada once again at the Paris Olympics.

Jasneet Nijjar is set to make history as the first Indo-Canadian woman to compete in track and field at the Olympics. The 23-year-old sprinter from British Columbia will be part of Canada’s 4x400m women’s relay team. Her journey began at the age of seven.
