He has 28 medals to his name, which include 23 gold, 3 silver and 2 bronze. He participated in 2000, 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016 Olympics. Phelps also holds the record for winning the most gold medals in a single edition, having won 8 gold medals in the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
