India has sent a big contingent of 49 shooters to the ISSF World cup 2024.

Indian shooter Anuradha Devi, who is making her debut in the ISSF World Cup, won the silver medal in the women's 10 meter air pistol event, defeating Rio Olympic champion Anna Korakakki in this global tournament going on in Cairo, Egypt.

33-year-old Anuradha Devi made it to the ISSF World Cup finals from the eighth and last qualifying position. Anuradha secured second place in the final on Friday. This achievement of Anuradha gave India its first medal (first of six) in the ISSF World Cup stage of the Olympic year. Earlier, Sagar Dangi had also reached the final of men's 10 meter air pistol event but he finished sixth.

Meanwhile, Rhythm Sangwan, who won the Paris Olympics quota, also reached the women's final but finished fourth. Anuradha qualified for the finals with 575 marks. In the final, she defeated Irina Yunusmetova of Kazakhstan and secured second place. Anuradha remained 1.2 points behind Korakakki with a score of 239.9.

Among other Indians, Manu Bhaker finished 15th in the women's pistol event. Ujjwal Malik and Ravinder Singh also remained out of the top eight. In the men's trap event, Zoravar Sandhu is the best placed Indian with a score of 70 in three rounds. In the women's trap event, Rajeshwari Kumari is in 19th place with a score of 64.

India has sent a big contingent of 49 shooters to the ISSF World cup 2024. While the Rifle and Pistol Shooters will be eyeing a good performance to ensure a place in the national Olympic trials come May, the Shotgunners will look to hold their place in the team and maintain high world rankings with as many as four spots, two in Trap and two in Skeet, still to be booked for Paris with a final qualifier event slated for April in Rio.
