India has created history by winning 73 medals in the Asian Para Games 2023. With this, India has surpassed its previous best medal tally at the Para Asiad, which was 72, achieved in 2018. Indian players have won 17 gold, 20 silver and 32 bronze medals till Thursday morning.

After India enjoyed its most productive day at the Asian Para Games 2023, winning a whopping 30 medals, taking its tally to 64, the country's athletes added eight more medals to its total tally of 73 on Day 4 of the Games.
Meanwhile, India has won the first gold medal in the archery event of Asian Para Games 2023. Rakesh Kumar and Sheetal Devi have targeted gold in the compound open mixed team event of Archery. The Indian pair won the gold medal by defeating Chinese pair 151-149.
On Thursday itself, Indian athletes Thulasimathi Murugesan and four other athletes have qualified for the Asian Para Games 2023 gold medal. In the shooting event also, Abhinav Shaw has won the bronze medal and Gautami Bhanot has won the silver medal.
On Thursday morning, Indian athlete Sachin gave India the lead by winning the first gold in the Asian Para Games 2023. He has won the gold medal in the men's shot put F46 event. India's Sidhartha Babu has created a new record and won the gold medal in the 50 meter rifle prone SH1 event at the Asian Para Games 2023. Siddharth has won the final by creating a new record of 247.7 points.

At the same time, India's Nimisha Suresh has won gold in the women's T47 long jump competition in Hangzhou, China. Nimisha won the gold medal in this event with a best jump of 5.15 meters. Meanwhile, India's Kirti Chauhan has secured fourth place in the same event with a jump of 4.42 metres. Rakshitha Raju has won the gold medal in the women's 1500 meter T11 event of the Asian Para Games 2023.
